Companion Mode: fly in DJI Pilot 2 or DJI Fly with Eagle Eyes running alongside
Get a free license instantly and start live streaming for free and live tracking your drone to CalTopo, while you fly in the DJI piloting app. Every free account gets almost two hours of free streaming to anyone, anywhere in the world, over the internet, in addition to free local live streaming, to up to 3 viewers, on the same Wi-Fi network. This is what we previously called Background Mode.
Live drone location tracking and real-time photo points to CalTopo
Your drone's live location and GPS track go straight to your team's CalTopo map, and you can drop photo points onto the CalTopo map in real time, while your drone is still in the air.
Free local streaming, plus nearly 2 hours of free internet streaming on every account
Streaming to viewers on your own local Wi-Fi network is free and unmetered, for up to 3 viewers. Every account, free ones included, also comes with nearly two hours of free live streaming over the internet. Beyond that, internet streaming runs on streaming credits, which you can buy as a pay as you go add-on and put on a free account at any time. How livestreaming works.
Live airspace deconfliction with every drone around you
We believe any pilot should be able to put their drone on the same airspace picture as everyone working around them, without friction and without giving up control of who sees it. That is why we built EDS-B, the Eagle Dependent Surveillance Broadcast, aka the Electronic Drone Surveillance Broadcast network. It is a free and open network for sharing live drone locations, and anyone can join it.

Getting on it takes a few clicks. Install the free Eagle Eyes app on your drone controller and run it in Companion Mode alongside DJI Pilot 2 or DJI Fly, or in Piloting Mode with a Pro license.

You choose who sees it. Nothing is shared until you turn it on. By default your drone is visible only within your own organisation. You can extend that to the CalTopo map your team is working from, and broadcasting publicly stays off until you switch it on yourself. EDS-B shows the drone and not the pilot, with your drone's identity and home location stripped out.

Once you are on the network:
  • Your drone's live location reaches the people you have shared it with, and no one else
  • You see every other drone on the network that is sharing with you, so pilots can coordinate and keep clear of one another instead of guessing where everyone is
  • When any drone on your shared network picks up an ADS-B manned aircraft, that detection goes to everyone else on the network. A helicopter crossing the operation appears on every pilot's controller in real time, not just the controller of the drone that picked it up
  • Manned aircraft pilots can join the same shared network and see the drones flying on it

Safer separation, and far less radio traffic spent working out who is where. Free for anyone to use, anywhere, on any account. More on EDS-B.
Remote ID receiver support
Connect a Remote ID receiver to the Eagle Eyes app on your DJI drone controller and the controller becomes an RID receiver: nearby broadcasting drones appear live on your map alongside your own aircraft, and you can share those detections with other Eagle Eyes users. See the receivers Eagle Eyes works with.

Viewing live streams is free
Watching a stream needs no license. Open it in Eagle Eyes Mirada from a QR code, URL or join code, and each drone appears on a shared map with real-time position, altitude and synced CalTopo map objects. Viewers can switch between streams and pass them on to others.

Free Local Live Streaming and Free Live Location Tracking to CalTopo (1.8.0)
Eagle Eyes Pilot 1.7.1 Beta Release

Note: Livestreaming works in both the free and Pro versions of the Eagle Eyes app. Free accounts can fly in Companion Mode, and Pro accounts can fly in either Piloting Mode or Companion Mode. See the difference between Companion Mode and Piloting Mode, and how livestreaming works.
Custom autonomous flight missions
Generate and fly custom grid missions in Eagle Eyes Pilot: see the 1.7.1 release post. Missions on the DJI Mini series and terrain-following AGL missions on supported aircraft are new in 1.8: see the 1.8.0 release post.
Full access to Eagle Eyes computer vision, both real-time and post-flight analysis
Computer vision color and motion anomaly detection, both real time on the live feed while the drone is in the air and for post processing analysis of recorded images and videos.

When you fly in Piloting Mode and share a livestream, your detections go out with it. Eagle Eyes color and motion detections reach your viewers live, along with DJI's AI shape-based detections of people, vehicles, and boats if you have that setting turned on. Watching is free, with no account and no license, so a team can put one Pro license on the pilot and have everyone else see the detections at no extra cost.
Full access to Eagle Eyes Mirada desktop app features
For details on the features available in Eagle Eyes Mirada, see our recent release post here.

Note: Eagle Eyes Scan is still available for paid users, and we will soon be replacing Eagle Eyes Scan entirely with Eagle Eyes Mirada.

Stream beyond your local Wi-Fi, up to 10 viewers at once
With streaming credits, remote observers anywhere on the internet (incident command, SAR HQ, partner agencies) can watch your drone's live video, telemetry, and computer vision detections. Up to 10 viewers can watch at the same time, and watching a stream is free for everyone. The 10 viewer cap is a default you can raise in your account, and each viewer past 10 adds USD $0.50 per hour.
Local streaming to 3 viewers stays free
Streaming is free as long as all viewers are on your local Wi-Fi network and there are 3 or fewer. Paid streaming only starts when someone joins from beyond your local network, or when a 4th viewer joins.
Pay per minute streamed, not per viewer
Credits are only consumed while at least one viewer beyond your local network is connected, at $0.06 per streaming minute. Whether 1 or 10 remote viewers are watching, the rate is the same. No remote viewers, no charge.
Viewing a stream is free. No license needed
Anyone, anywhere can watch a live stream in the Eagle Eyes Mirada web app or the Mirada desktop app. Open it with just the link, by scanning the QR code, or by entering the livestream join code. Viewers need no account and no license.

If the pilot has a Pro subscription with Eagle Eyes computer vision detection turned on, those real-time detections go out with the stream too, and viewers see them at no extra cost as part of free stream viewing.
Password-protect your stream
Optionally protect your stream with a password, so only the people you share it with can watch, on top of the unique stream link, QR code, or join code.
